How to Unlock The Shadow Over Petrichor

The Shadow Over Petrichor is a new world quest added in Version 4.6 and is available immediately after unlocking Fontaine region.
Unlock at Petrichor area
The quest is located in the Petrichor area. To get there, simply head over to the new Statue of Seven and unlock the new area.

Check Out of the Commotion
Within the nearby road, there should be a bunch of adventurers causing a commotion. Simply walk towards them for a cutscene.
The Shadow Over Petrichor Walkthrough
Defeat the “bandits”
As you trigger the cutscene, the gang of rogue adventurers becomes suspicious of Traveler and Paimon. Quickly take care of them through combat!
Examine the chest carrying the treasure
After the quick skirmish, a cutscene plays as Paimon and the Traveler wonder what the bandits were talking about.
The treasure
may look like a bunch of shattered stones but as the Traveler inspects it, it suddenly holds memories of a distant past.
Head to Petrichor
After Paimon's worry for the sudden trance, the pair decides to head to the nearby town of Pertrichor to look for answers.
After some exchange with the locals, Este is interested by a local cat's pendant. However, the cat immediately runs off.
Explore the ruins in the mountain
Este suggests that the cat might have ran to the nearby ruins. Head over around the nearby hill to reach the mysterious ruin.
Defeat the revived statue
As soon as you arrived, the nearby statue revives itself and presents a challenge to the Traveler. This Praetorian Golem has quite a health bar, so make sure to be ready!
Talk to the talking cat
After your impressive showcase of combat skills, the cat you were initally chasing after shows that it is not just another regular cat. It introduces itself as Osse, and is familiar with the ruins.
Follow Osse into the deep spring
Osse quickly jumps into the nearby edge. Follow them and jump over to the underwater area to explore a new region.
Go to the underwater Faded Castle
In this stage, Osse guides us around underwater. Simply swim around the new area to follow Osse.
Head to the Faded Castle
As you follow Osse, you should be able to see the mysterious ruins underneath Petrichor. You should be able to reach a walkable area which resembles an old, faded castle once you follow Osse.
Obtain the Autoharmonic Music Box
Once you explore the Faded Castle, Osse presents an old mystical music box which Osse suggests will be useful later!
Obtain music scores
The brief exchange ends the quest. However, with the music box unlocked, Travelers can search the castle for other scores. These scores can give you various rewards once you present it in the music box!
